7、ased higher-layer protocols. All activities are based on CiA members interest, participation and initiative. CiA representatives actively support international standardization of CAN protocols and represent the members interest in national and international standardization committees, such as ISO an

8、d IEC. CiA members initiate and develop specifications that are then published as CiA standards. These specifications cover physical layer definitions as well as application layer and device profile descriptions. All the technical development needs to be marketed in order to reach a broad audience a

9、nd to further the CAN technology. For this purpose there are several marketing groups within the CiA. Access to these groups is open for all CiA members, just as in the technical groups. Participation may be active or passive, regular or irregular, just as the individual member company wishes. All m

10、arketing measures to promote the CAN technology are feasible. At the moment CiA organizes joint marketing activities including stands and booths at fairs and exhibitions. CiA publishes the CANopen Product Guide on CD-ROM and in the web, application-specific brochures and the CAN Newsletter magazine.

11、 They provide a CAN product database available to all on the web. CAN specifications can downloaded online. Further activities are free-of-charge CANschools in selected countries and CAN and CANopen seminars as well as In-house seminars. Also, CiA representatives speak at international conferences a
