Writing for business should be crisp (clarity, conciseness) and succinct (concise and terse). OBJECTIVE Analyze and plan for a business writing task Choose precise words to convey the correct m

3、eaning Write clear and concise sentences and paragraphs Identify and correct common errors found in sentence structures Master the natural written English The most important objective of taking this course is *To cultivate the sense of doing business learning the tone of writing learning the format

4、(letter, memo, e- mail), strategy, and word choice learning the principles of writing learning the skills of negotiationTone of writing? The business writer should strive for an overall tone that is confident, courteous, and sincere; that uses emphasis and subordination appropriately; that contains

5、nondiscriminatory language; that stresses the “you“ attitude; and that is written at an appropriate level of difficulty“ (Ober 88). The only major exceptions to these guidelines are when you need to write a negative business message, such as when you deny a job offer or a customer request. In most c

6、ases, the business letter will be the first impression that you make on someone. For this reason it is important that you are diligent in your task of writing an effective business document. Even though business writing is possibly less formal than it once was. In a word, business letter should comm

7、unicate your ideas effectively, concisely and professionally.Most business letters and proposals are opportunities to influence decisions. Usually its a one-time opportunity.
