3、d Prejudice of 2005 edition and the love between Elizabeth Bennet and Fitzwilliam Darcy drew most of my attention. But I couldnt understand why it was named Pride and Prejudice at that time. After the beginning of our English literature course, I borrowed this novel and read it with the question” wh

4、ere was pride” and “where was prejudice”. And gradually I found although the main clue of this novel was love and marriage, the theme was pride and prejudice. That was, it mainly talked how the pride and prejudice came out, stimulated and vanished in the main characters love.2、 The PlotPride and Pre

5、judice was the masterpiece of Jane Austen, one of the important English woman novelists. It mainly told the love story between Elizabeth Bennet and Fitzwilliam Darcy. Elizabeth had prejudice against Darcy, because she thought he had nothing but pride. And due to this, she rejected Darcys proposal. A

6、fter many twists and turns, misunderstanding disappeared and they were happily united. In the process of judging others, Elizabeth found out something about herself: her blindness, prejudice and absurdity.The pride and prejudice between two main characters appeared in the beginning of novel a ball i

7、n Hertfordshire where Darcy showed his pride temper. And Wickhams smear strengthened Elizabeths prejudice and misunderstanding on Darcy, what was inevitably affected by a series of subsequent events. Elizabeth gradually changed her views on Darcy when she read his long letter of explanation, and met

8、 sincere Darcy in his own manor. Finally, they walked out of the frog which was pride and prejudice and came to a pleased ending.In addition to the novel of Elizabeth and Darcy, Jane Austen decepited the marriages of her sisters and female friend as well, such as Charlotte and Collins, which were us

9、ed to make comparison with the authors ideal marriage. These marriages reflected the different values on love of women who lived in the early 19th century in England.3、 Pride and Prejudice in The NovelWhile I was watching the film, I could not comprehend the title, but in the process of 3reading the

10、 novel with the question” where were pride and prejudice”, so astonished had I found that it was full of Darcys pride and Elizabeths prejudice in their conversation. Here I just selected two scenes which from my perspective were typical enough.In this scene, Elizabeth told Colonel Fitzwilliam about

11、the ball in Hertfordshire, where she and Darcy met each other for the first time, and Darcy tried to make some explanation:“What do you think he(Darcy) did? He danced only four dances! I am sorry to pain you but so it was. He danced only four dances, though gentlemen were scarce; and to my certain k

12、nowledge, more than one young lady was sitting down in want of a partner. Mr. Darcy, you cannot deny the fact” said Elizabeth, to tell Fitzwilliam how pride Darcy was in her mind. “Perhaps, I should have judged better, had I sought an introduction, but I am ill qualified to recommend myself to stran

13、gers.” said Darcy. He expressed his real character of reserved to explain his behavior on that hall.“Shall we ask him why a man of sense and education, and who has lived in the world, is ill qualified to recommend himself to strangers?” Elizabeth replied. Her prejudice to Darcys pride had been deepl

14、y marked in her heart, thus she regarded Darcys words of explanation were unreasonable.The second I chose to show the pride and prejudice was the scene when Darcy expressed his emotion to Elizabeth” In vain have I struggled. It will not do. My feelings will not be repressed. You must allow me to tel

15、l you how ardently I admire and love you.”Elizabeths reflection on his proposal was:” Form the very beginning, from the first moment, I may almost say, of my acquaintance with you, your manners impressing me with the fullest belief of your arrogance, your conceit, and your selfish disdain of the fee

16、lings of others.” Inevitable, Darcys pride influenced their love and marriage.After Elizabeths refusal and his explanation of misunderstanding, he hastily went out of the room leaving these words” You have said quite enough, madam. I perfectly comprehend your feelings, and have now only to be ashamed of what my own have been. Forgive me for having taken up so much of your time, and accept my best wishes for your health and happiness.” This was acceptable
