3、derstanding of how the world works and help students realize the existences of alternative science conceptions. The module then provides an opportunity for students to gain knowledge about science thinking and science processes for constructing scientific understanding. Through activities and practi

4、cal experiences, students are able to develop science thinking and to perform science processes, as well as to make informed decisions on current science issues. Objectives To enable students to: a. identify the existence of alternative science conceptions; b. develop science thinking to construct s

5、cientific understanding; c. perform science processes in scientific investigations; and d. develop the ability to make informed decisions on science issues. Content a. Understanding alternative science conceptions Childrens own understanding of how the world works (e.g. weather, living things, earth

6、, light b. perform the experiment on-site and c. present their findings in class. 2. An individual written report of about 2,000 words on using relevant science thinking and science processes to make an informed decision to a current science issue. (70%) Students are required to a. identify a curren

7、t science issue from newspapers / magazines / newsletters; b. conduct scientific investigations that involve the application of science processes and/or analyse research findings applying science thinking; c. establish ones own decision or position based on the analysis and/or findings in (2) above.
