1、He Healed My Broken HeartMy mothers angry scream broke into the happy ,friendly world of Mister Rogers Neighborhood. Even as a 6-year-old,I often escaped into the neighbouhood of the kind ,soft-spoken man who wore that brightly colored sweater.But on this day ,any attempt to slip into my safe TV wor
2、ld didnt work .My mothers angry shouts made sure of that.Even though the devorce shocked my mother, it had been in the making for a long time.Dad hadnt even lived in the home for about two years.But now,the marriage was definitely over. I was scared and confused.Since my mother had a hard time coppi
3、ng with so many things in her life, it was decided that I should move in with Dad. Soon Dad remarrid and I had a new stepmom. Life at my Dads house was full of arguments and fights, especilly between me and my new stepmon. I easily became angry and thew screaming tantrums. So my stepmom would try to
4、 decipline me. That only made matters worse.Shed yell at me. Id yell back.Shed send me to my room. Id storm up stairs and slam my door so hard it shook the walls.By the time I was 9,I felt like I couldnt take it anymore. Im sure my stepmom felt the same way.The something happened that began to chang
5、e my life.That summer , I spent a week with my cousins at Camp Joke ,a Christian camp where my aunt Diane worked as a nurse. It was an incredible week! Along with hiks and fun crafts.,I heard every single day that God loved me and cared for me.What was really amazing was the way my aunt and the camp
6、 counselor made me feel specil and valued. I also heard many talks about how a person can become a Christian.One of the speakers said God wants to have a realitonship with us, and he wants us to join him in heaven when we die. But the speaker went on to say that theres the problem:Everybody is seper
7、ated from God by sin.God, who is holy,will not allow sin in his presence. And speaker stressed that no matter how good we are,that doesnt take any care with this problem. The great news is, he told us,Jesus died on the cross and did something incredible.He created a way for us to have our sins forgi
8、ven,escape hell and live in heaven with God.It was hard to understand ,but I figured out two things:1I wanted to go to heaven and not hell;2God loves me and would forgive me for anything and everything Id ever done wrong. Hed ever forgive me for yelling out at my stepmom.Before the end of the week,I
9、d asked Jesus to forgive me of my sins,give me enternal life, and show me how to live for him.I went hone a totally new person.The problem was, my family situatoin didnt change.In fact ,it got worse.My stepmom seemed to resent my new religious beliefs.She certainly didnt understand them.Even though
10、I wanted to be a good girl. I just couldnt get along with her. Sometimes Id cry out to God: why is it like this?Why things are so bad for me .Even though God seemed quiet at times,I now believe he heardmy prayers.He was working a plan that Id never thought of.His plan and I really believe it was his
11、 plan-was for me to move into my Aunt Dianes hone. My father agreed and the argument were made.For the past six years,Ive lived with my aunt,uncle and cousins.While I miss living with at least one of my parents,I believe it is the best place for me right now. But my aunt and uncle have helped me so much. Through their lifes and the things they teach me , Ive gained a better understanding of what it means to live a Christian life.
