13、的办公场所，而与原意相距甚远。英语中， Office 作机构名称解时，一般都带有修饰词， 如：Occupational Statistics Office（职业统计办公室）Derby Office of Department of Agriculture（农业部德比地区办事处） Head Office of Department of Veterinary Services（兽医服务处总部）如不加修饰词，将 Office 和 Bureau、 Department 等表示机构的名称混在一起，会使英语母语读者费解，因为在他们眼里，Office 和 Bureau、Department 是同一回事。
14、笔者认为将机构内设的办公室主任称成 Chief of Staff 无疑是最地道的。 在这种情况下，“办公室“也可仿照美国译作 Office of the Chief of Staff。 3、“行长“的译法 当前国内外宣资料中将中国的银行行长普遍称为“Governor“,而国外介绍中国的资料中则多称其 为“President“。笔者以外，可以将银行分为“中央银行“ Central Bank 和“商业银行“Commercial Bank 两类，中央银行的 职能是监管各商业银行，其“行长“冠以行政官员色彩较浓的 Governor 是适宜的，而各商业银行，由于其日益鲜明的企 业性质，显然用 Presi
15、dent 更妥当。我国的几大国有银行，过去一直作为国家机关的一部分，所以其行长一直称为 Governor，但是现在要与国际接轨，需要强化企业色彩，改称 President 无疑是明智之举。中央银行的地方分支，可选 用 Subgovernor，其它银行的地方分支首脑，仍可称作 President。 4、关于“副“的译法 5、企业主管英译的几点说明 “厂长“可以译作 Factory Director / Factory Manager/ General Factory Manager/Works Manager/ Plant Manager。 “生产厂长“（可以是厂长负责制下分管生产的副厂长，或公司制下生产厂的厂长或生产部门经理或运营经理）可 以译为：Production Manager/ Manager (Production) / Factory Production Manager /Operations Manager /Manufacturing Manager/Production Controller。 “生产主管“:Production Supervisor/ Shift Manager/ Team Leader。 “班长“:Shift Manager/Shift Supervisor“生产线
