4、tract in Chinese I 摘摘 要要 约翰多恩（John Donne，1572-1631），又译为但恩、邓恩、堂恩，是英国玄学派诗歌的创始人，以爱情诗闻名。作为一个“已品尝过爱的果园里的每一个果子”的人，多恩对爱情有着独特的思考，他的爱情诗展现了他发展的爱情观，如伊凡麦基恩（Ian Mackean）所说：“多恩的爱情诗集歌与十四行诗不只描绘一种单一的、不变的爱情观”。他渴望美好和谐的爱情，却在诗歌中表现出对爱情的否定和对情爱的极度张扬。在描写爱情和塑造女性形象的过程中，多恩最喜爱使用的意象之一就是“圆”意象。本文拟从他的爱情诗集歌与十四行诗中的“圆”意象入手分析，揭示多恩发展的爱情
5、观即，从否定爱到张扬爱最后到爱的和谐。全文共分三章： 第一章探讨多恩消极的爱情观。 多恩发现他身边的女性大多是善变的、 靠不住的，甚至是虚伪的、 不忠贞的， 从而导致他消极的爱情观。 在塑造女性形象时， 多恩用 “圆”意象淋漓尽致地表达了他对女性的不信任和鄙视。 第二章探讨多恩张扬的爱情观。当多恩对女性的忠贞怀疑不已时，他不再相信传统所颂扬的爱情忠贞观。 他追求真爱却备受挫折， 也令他极度呼唤爱情的最本真状态。他宛如一年少狂夫，在文本中欲抛开世俗约束，肆意张扬情爱，张扬赤裸裸的如跳蚤圆鼓鼓肚子般的肉体之爱；他追求一种变形的如流动的泪珠般的精神之爱，想以此得到完美的爱情，但其结果是多恩更加失望反
6、而怀疑爱情。 第三章探讨多恩和谐的爱情观。 多恩在张扬肉体之爱和精神之爱时发现这两种爱并不是他所真正向往的爱情。他认为爱情关系应该是肉体与精神的相互融合。 “圆规圆”意象很好的传达了他此种灵肉完美结合的思想。同时，和谐的爱情关系还表现在男女平等上，如多恩把女性比作同自己一样的半球，二者合成一个完美的圆；男女双方的完全奉献使爱不朽，如“凤凰涅槃”、精致的“瓮”说明男女双方完全奉献而使爱不朽； 多恩还多次用圆意象“太阳” 来嫉妒男女双方相互真诚的、 毫无他念的真爱。 多恩用“圆”意象表达了他对爱情的独特思考，反映了他发展的爱情观。他的爱情诗不再附会彼特拉克时期歌颂女性的风雅， 也不禁锢于伊丽莎白时
7、期对爱情本真的压抑，追求爱情的真实感受，既有肉体的又有精神的爱。他呼唤具有爱情基础的婚姻展示了进步的爱情主题，他的思想远超他所属的时代，具有创新性。 关键词：关键词：约翰多恩；歌与十四行诗；“圆”意象；和谐爱情观Abstract II Abstract John Donne (1572 1631) is known as the founder of the Metaphysical Poets and is primarily known as a metaphysical love poet. He wins his name by poetry especially his Songs
8、and Sonnets. As a man who “has tasted every fruit in loves orchard”, Donne has a unique thinking on love, and his love poems show his changing views of love, as Ian Mackean said, “Donnes Songs and Sonnets do not describe a single unchanging view of love.” He has a great thirst for harmonious love, w
9、hile his negative view of love and outgoing view of love prevail in his poetry. In describing love and shaping the image of women, Donne is fond of using circle images. This thesis ventures to demonstrate Donnes changing views of love based on the circle images in his love poems. This thesis consist
10、s of three chapters. Chapter One probes into Donnes negative view of love. He finds the women, especially these women close to him, are fickle and unreliable even hypocritical and infidelity, which results in his negative view of love. While in shaping the image of women, Donne reflects fully his di
11、strust and contempt towards women through the circle images. Chapter Two explores Donnes outgoing view of love. When Donne doubts at womens faithfulness, he also doesnt believe the constancy which extols in tradition in love. His pursuit of true love is frustrated which makes him calls for loves tru
12、e state. He indulges himself in an outgoing state like a crazy young man for his free pursuit of love. It is as same as a flea who shows a naked physical love by sucking blood from lovers, whose belly is stuffed like a ball; and then in a deformed spiritual love likes tears. But what he gets are dis
13、illusionment and doubt about love. Chapter Three is devoted to studying Donnes harmonious view of love. Donne finds that these two kinds of love are not what he really wants. He realizes that harmonious love must be the perfect unity of body and soul, which is best proved by the “compass-circle” ima
14、ge. Harmonious love also requires the harmony of men and women, like the equality, full devotion and exclusiveness, all of which can be known Abstract III through his poetrys circle images, such as hemisphere, Phoenix Nirvana, Sun, etc. The circle images, which Donne used in his love poetry, express his unique thinking of love, and reflect his changing views of love. His love poetry is no longer attached to Petrarcan tradition who extols the womens elegance, nor confined to Elizabethan period when people suppressed true love. He pursues
