There were two sisters: one was Mildred Hill, and the other Patty Hill. The former had great musical talents, wh

2、ile the latter had knowledge of kindergarten education. By combining their abilities, the two produced a song called “Good Morning to All”. It was a success, and later published in a collection of songs for kindergartens.Thirty-one years later a man named Coleman published the song without the siste

3、rs permission. To make things worse, he added a second part, which is the present “Happy Birthday to You”. This new song soon became popular and eventually it replaced the sisters first part altogether. Then, in 1916, Patty took legal action against Coleman. In court she managed to prove that she an

5、t 2Do you prefer to watch movies at home or at the theater? Why?This is a difficult question, for most of us enjoy both. But if you press me with this question, I should say that persoally I prefer watching a DVD at home. It is true that watching a movie at a theater has a number of advantages. For

6、example,the sound effects are much better. When you hear guns firing in a theater, you feel as if you were on a real battelfield. Moreover, the presence of an audience can create a good atmosphere. When you watch a comedy on TV by yourself, you may be amused by the funny words and actions, but you a

7、re unlikely to laugh out loud. In a theater, on the other hand, you may laugh heartily when the whole audience bursts into wild laughter.In spite of those pluses for the theater, I have to say that I prefer to stay home and watch the same movie on DVD. In this way I feel more relaxed. I dont have to

8、 sit on a chair. Instead, I can lie on a sofa. I can drink tea or coffee while watching the movie. I can also press the PAUSE button, go to the kitchen or toilet, and then come back to continue the movie. More importantly, if I dont understand a section of the movie, I can replay it. Obviously, the

He and his movies have a number of characteristics. His movies often show innocent people in situa

11、tions they cannot control or understand. He liked to use the technique of suspense instead of surprise. In surprise, a director provides frightening things. In suspense, a director lets the audience know a certain thing, which the character in the movie does not know. Then the director gradually bui

12、lds up tension until finally the character gets to know the truth. Hitchcock had a sense of humor. Once a customs official looked at his passport which showed that he was a “Producer”. Not knowing what it meant, he asked Hitchcock what he produced. Half jokingly and half seriously, he answered tht h

13、e produced “gooseflesh”, meaning he produced movies that caused gooseflesh in the audience or sent shivers down the viewer spine. Interestingly, Hitchcock liked to appear briefly in all of his movies. He sometimes got on a bus or crossed a street. But once he ran into difficulty. In Lifeboat, the wh

14、ole movie was set in a lifeboat as a dead body, but he soon gave up the idea, for he was afraid he would sink. In its long history, China has witnessed many tragic events arising from arranged marriages. However, we should not go to extremes and claim that all arranged marriages are failures. After all, in the past 2000-plus years, most of the arranged marriages did survive, and some of the couples did develop real love after their marriage.
