1、华中科技大学硕士学位论文口译中的听力需求分析研究姓名:黎明申请学位级别:硕士专业:外国语言学及应用语言学指导教师:姚秋琳20080501III华华 中中 科科 技技 大大 学学 硕硕 士士 学学 位位 论论 文文 摘摘 要要 随着中国改革开放的深化,社会对口译的需求日益增多。口译帮助了越来越多的人用不同语言进行交谈,越来越多的人亦投入到学习英汉口译的过程中。他们或是自学口译,或是在学院或专门机构接受口译培训。 学术界也纷纷对口译展开了讨论。研究主要涉及口译标准、口译策略、教材设计、和教学方法等内容。但是在研究中仍然还有进一步研究的空间。很多研究是经验研究;研究的对象主要是高水平的口译人员,如专

2、业口译员;而很少有研究将口译学习者列入受试者中,关于口译听力的研究更不多见。众所周知,听力是口译的基础。没有达到准确的听力,口译也无法准确从而导致口译的失败。口译中的听力属于专门用途英语范畴。前人研究表明听力受语言知识、学习者策略等因素的影响。哪些因素在口译过程中最影响学习者的听力?哪些学习策略可有助与口译过程中的听力提高?这是研究者的兴趣所在,并对此展开了研究和探讨。本研究首先回顾了专门用途英语中相关理论和需求分析的方法,然后详细分析了口译过程中听力的特征。受试者是 86 名口译学习者,其中对 36 名从网上进行了问卷调查,对 30 名华中科技大学英语专业三年级的学生及20名华中科技大学其他

3、专业的学生进行了现场问卷调查,并对其中 5 名进行了访谈。对所收集的数据,通过 SPSS 10.0 进行了因子分析,相关分析和方差分析。研究结果表明在影响口译中的听力因素中,非语言知识影响最大。非语言知识包含心理状态和学习策略两方面。心理状态包括年龄和动机。学习策略中,学习者最需要的是笔记法,分层法,归纳法和预测法;影响学习者听力的第二个因素其次是语言知识。句法问题,特别是理解复杂的长句是令口译学习者头疼的问题。访谈结果更进一步证实了影响口译中的听力因素的结论及具体的学习策略的使用。学习者对口译过程中的听力训练在口译中程中占很重要的地位, 要成功进行口译必须加强听力训练。在此研究基础上,本文提

Therefore, there has been an increasingly gro

5、wing number of candidates for interpretation, who are either training themselves or receiving training either at college or in specialized institutions. Interpretation has been discussed a lot in the academic field. Mainly, a lot of researches have been done on standards of interpretation and its th

6、eory, strategies in interpretation, teaching book design, and teaching methodologies. However, there is still some room for further investigation. Most of the researches are empirical ones, and subjects in the previous researches are interpreters of high level language proficiency such as profession

7、al interpreters, while few researches have interpreter candidates as their researching subjects. There are even fewer researches on listening in interpretation. But as is known to all, listening is the basis for interpretation. Without a good and accurate listening, interpretation can not be accompl

8、ished. Also, since listening in interpretation belongs to English for Specific Purposes, it can be affected by a lot of factors as have been researched previously by many researchers, such as ones linguistic knowledge and use of learning strategies, etc. But what are the factors that might contribut

9、e to the breakdown of interpretation and which strategies the interpreter candidates need most for successful interpretation? This has aroused the researchers interest, and the study on interpreter candidates listening in interpretation is thus under way. The study first presents some related theori

10、es on English for Specific Purposes and needs analysis, and then it gives a detailed analysis of features of listening in interpretation. The subjects are 86 interpreter candidates, of whom 36 are from the Internet, and 30 English majors in Grade three from Huazhong University of Science and Technol

11、ogy and 20 are college students studying in different majors in Huazhong University of Science and Technology, too. The questionnaire and interview have been used for the study. With the help of SPSS 10.0, the thesis makes factor analysis, correlation analysis, and Chi-Square Tests. The research fin

The learning strategies are the second factor that might affect interpretation. While among th

13、e learning strategies to be used in interpretation, it is agreed that in interpretation, notes-taking, labeling, induction, and anticipation all play a part. Then comes the linguistic knowledge, particularly at the syntactic level, the understanding of long and complex sentences and complex substitu

14、tes of one sentence have been a big headache for most of the interpreter candidates. The results from the interview validate the conclusion drawn from the questionnaire about the factors that might affect listening in interpretation and the use of learning strategies. As for the attitudes towards th

15、e necessity and importance of listening in interpretation, a consensus has been reached. Based on the study, the thesis offers some pedagogical implications as well as limitations for the study and points out the direction for future research.
