1、名词可以分为可数名词和不可数名词，不可数名词没有单复数，一律看作单数。 可数名词的单数前什么时候用 a，什么时候用 an？ 答：以元音音标（或音素）开头的用 an。 以辅音音标（或音素）开头的用 a。 注意：我们看的是音标（或音素）音标（或音素），而不是元音字母。 选择 a 或 an 或不填（用/表示）pen bag apple big apple banana orange oranges orange pen英语名词单数变复数的规则： 一、绝大多数的可数名词的复数形式，是在该词末尾加上后辍-s。 读音变化：结尾是清辅音读s，结尾是浊辅音或元音读z。 例：friendfriends; cat
2、cats; stylestyles; sportsports; piecepieces 二、凡是以 s、z、x、ch、sh 结尾的词，在该词末尾加上后辍-es 构成复数。 读音变化：统一加读iz。 例：busbuses; quizquizzes; foxfoxes; matchmatches; flashflashes 三、以辅音字母+y 结尾的名词，将 y 改变为 i，再加-es。 读音变化：加读z。 例：candycandies; daisydaisies; fairyfairies; ladyladies; storystories 四、以-o 结尾的名词，如果不是外来词或缩写，就加-e
3、s，否则加-s 构成复数。 读音变化：加读z。 例：tomatotomatoes; potatopotatoes; torpedotorpedoes; bingobingoes 反例：silosilos; pianopianos（外来词）; photophotos; macromacros（缩写词） 以 O 结尾的词，许多加 es 构成复数，特别是一些常用词如：heroes,potatoes,tomatoes,echoes,tornadoes,torpedoes,dominoes,vetoes,mosquitoes, Negroes,mangoes,buffaloes,volcanoes 但下
4、面几类词只加 s： 1.以“元音+o”或“oo”结尾的词如:videos,radios,studios,folios,oratorios,embryos,zoos,bamboos,kangaroos,taboos 2.一些外来词，特别是音乐方面的词，如：pianos,solos,concertos,tobaccos,mottos,cellos 3.一些缩写词和专有名词，如：kilos,photos,memos,micros,Eskimos,Filipnos 有个别词加两种词尾都可 zero五、以-f 或-fe 结尾的名词，多为将-f 或-fe 改变为-ves，但有例外。 读音变化：尾音f改读v
5、z。 例：knifeknives; lifelives; leafleaves; staffstaves; scarfscarves 反例：roofroofs 六、部分单词的复数形式不变。读音变化：保持原音。 例：fishfish; sheepsheep; cattlecattle; deerdeer; salmonsalmon 七、极少数单词，其复数形式没有任何规律。读音变化：没有规律。 例：man-men, woman-women, policeman-policemen, policewoman-policewomen, mouse-mice child-children, foot-f
6、eet,. tooth-teeth, fish-fish, sheep-sheep people-people, Chinese-Chinese, Japanese-Japanese, 八、 、另外还有一些名词，其复数形式有时可表示特别意思， 例：goods 货物，waters 水域，fishes（各种）鱼，peoples 民族不可数名词，没有复数形式。 water(水) milk(牛奶) tea(茶) rice(米饭) orange（橙汁）juice（果汁）bread（面包） 我们又需要给这些词计量，于是采用 a+单位单位+of+不可数名词。不可数名词。如：a cup of tea 一杯茶
