1、英语知识 有些中文原文在文字表述或者结构安排上有一些不尽人意的地 方，我们在着手翻译之前应当对它做一些调整。这就是所谓的 改写或改编式的翻译。当然，前提是不改变原文的意思。举一 个例子：对外宣传邓小平理论无疑是非常重要的一个方面。在 翻译这样的内容时，要做到意思准确、风格得体、可读性强。 下面的一段文字，由于学校对外交流（交换课程设置）的需要， 我们必须将它翻译成英语。但是，通过学习和研究，发现这段 文字的句子特别长、重复比较多，而且显得缺乏条理性：邓小平理论概论“本课程系统讲授邓小平理论科学体系的基本内容, 深入 分析邓小平理论的思想精髓和科学内容,阐明邓小平理论的历 史地位和指导意义, 阐
2、明建设有中国特色社会主义的路线、方 针和政策，帮助学生提高对高举邓小平伟大旗帜的认识水平， 提高建设有中国特色社会主义道路的自觉性，提高以邓小平理 论为指导研究分析我国社会主义改革开放和现代化建设理论和 实践问题的能力。/ 邓小平理论概论讲授的重点内容是邓小 平社会主义初级阶段理论，邓小平理论的精髓，邓小平社会主 义本质和根本任务的理论，邓小平社会主义改革理论，邓小平 外交和对外开放理论，邓小平一国两制和祖国统一理论，邓小 平社会主义市场经济理论，邓小平社会主义现代化建设的发展 战略理论，邓小平社会主义民主与法制理论，邓小平社会主义 精神文明建设理论，邓小平社会主义建设的领导；力量和依靠 力量
3、理论等。/ 课堂教学要求努力贯彻理论与实际相结合、 历史与现实相结合的原则，力求科学严谨、生动有效。 ”为了取得应有的宣传效果，对于这类含有长句的复杂段落， 我们必须对它进行必要的加工，然后再分步骤地进行翻译。如果直接照翻，英语的可读性就要大打折扣。第一步, 翻译之前精心安排，突出句子的框架结构，再做 一些细节上的调整: 1邓小平理论概论本课程系统讲授邓小平理论科学体系的基本内容；深入分 析邓小平理论的思想精髓和科学内容；阐明邓小平理论的历史 地位和指导意义；阐明建设有中国特色社会主义的路线、方针 和政策；帮助学生提高对高举邓小平伟大旗帜的认识水平；提 高建设有中国特色社会主义道路的自觉性；提
