9、sforms the three phases of the mains into six phases. The six phases are rectified in a 12-pulse semi-conductor full bridge. The rectifier is made up of six thyristor/ diode modules. 3 of each are placed on a DC/AC module and the 3 remaining one are placed on a cooling element below the DC/AC module

The combination of the 12-pulse rectifier, the 12-pulse transformer and the input filter choke means that there is hardly no harmonic feed back into the mains (i.e. no mains pollution/distortion).
