1、矿产资源目前，在世界上已查明的 140 多种矿产中，内蒙古已发现 120 多种，在列入储量表的 72 种矿产中，有 40 多种储量居全国前 10 位，20 多种名列前 3 位，7 种居全国首位，特别是煤炭资源极其丰富，且品种优良，种类齐全，易于开采。目前内蒙古储量在 10 亿吨以上的大煤田有 15 个，其中储量 100 亿吨以上的煤田有 6 个。国家“七五”期间新开采的 5 大露天煤矿，有 4 个在内蒙古。石油天然气的蕴藏量也十分可观，全区已探明 13 个大油气田，预测石油总资源量为2030 亿吨，天然气的最高远景储量可达 10000 亿立方米，世界级的大油气田陕甘宁油气田的主体就在内蒙古的鄂
2、尔多斯盆地。内蒙古的稀土资源得天独厚，誉满中外，已探明的稀土氧化物储量占全国的 90%以上，仅次于巴西，居世界第 2 位；铍、钽、钴的探明储量也分别居世界的第 1、2 位。此外，黑色金属、有色金属和贵重金属、建材原料和其它非金属以及化工原料等矿产资源，有相当部分在全国也名列前茅。据有关专家估算，全区矿产储量潜在价值(不含石油、天然气)达 13 万亿元，居全国第 3 位，具有巨大的开发价值。农林牧资源内蒙古不仅地域辽阔，历史悠久，而且资源丰富，是一块被誉为“聚宝盆”的特殊经济区域，人们形象地称之为“东林西铁，南粮北牧，遍地矿藏”。 农牧林业是内蒙古最大的资源优势，在 3 个方面居全国第一：人均耕
3、地居全国第一。全区共有可利用耕地 549.14 万公顷，人均耕地面积 0.24 公顷，是全国人均耕地的 3 倍。富饶美丽的河套、土默川、辽河和松嫩平原，有“谷仓”和“塞外米粮川”之称，不仅是内蒙古主要粮食和经济作物产区，也是国家农业开发的重点地区。草场面积居全国五大牧场之首。东起大兴安岭山地，西至居延海，广袤无垠的草原东西绵延 2000 多公里，总面积达 8667 公顷，其中可利用草场面积 6800 万公顷，占全国可利用草场面积 1/5 以上。呼伦贝尔、锡林郭勒、科尔沁、乌兰察布、鄂尔多斯和乌拉特等著名草原，孕育出丰富多样的畜种资源，著名的三河牛、三河马、草原红牛、乌珠穆沁肥尾羊、敖汉细毛羊、
4、内蒙古细毛羊、阿尔巴斯白山羊、阿拉善驼等优良品种，在区内外闻名遐迩。森林面积居全国之冠。以内蒙古东部被誉为“祖国绿色宝库”的大兴安岭为主的森林面积达 1407 万公顷，占全国森林面积的 1/9，林木蓄积量 11.2 亿立方米，占全国总蓄积量的 12%，是国家重要的林业生产基地。野生动植物资源内蒙古各类植物 2351 种，其中野生植物 2167 种，引种栽培的有 184 种。这些植物已分属于 133 科，720 属，被列为第一批国家保护的珍稀野生植物的有 24 种。野生植物按经济用途可分为十几类。纤维植物有樟子松、落叶松、大叶草、芦苇、红柳等 70 多种。中草药有人参、天麻、麻黄、肉苁蓉、柴胡、
5、甘草等 500 多种。榛子、山杏、金莲花、松籽等几十种植物的种子是榨油的好原料。酿造的重要原料有越桔、笃斯、悬钩子、山樱桃等。几十种食用植物中尤以猴头、口蘑和发菜最负盛名。内蒙古兽类分属于 24 科，有114 种，占全国兽类 450 种的 25.3%。兽类中具有产业价值的 50 余种，珍贵稀有动物 10余种。鸟类分属于 51 科，有 365 种，占全国鸟类的 31%。被列入国家一、二、三类保护的兽类和鸟类共同 49 种。蒙古野驴和野骆驼属于世界上最珍贵的兽类，驯鹿是.特有的动物，还有百灵鸟是自治区区鸟。全区有啮齿动物 54 种，约占全国种数的 1/3，多属害兽。Mineral resource
