4、ategorydifficulttoclassify,occupiesauniquepositioninthehistoryofAmericanliterary.HisgreatinfluencesonFrenchsymbolism,psychoanalyticcriticism,detectivestory,andmodernChineseliteratureareallsignificant,attractingincreasingattentionofliterarycriticsinrecentyears.Atouchoftheaweinmostofhisshortstoriestha

13、dtoChinabyLuXunandPoesworksweretranslatedintoChinese.Unfortunately,Chinesecriticsdidntplacetoomuchattentioninhisworks.Thesecondperiodstartsfromthe1980s.CriticsbegantoopentheirmindandtrytomentonPoeswritingstyleandhislanguageduetothepolicyofReformandOpeningtotheoutsideworld.Atthattime,Poesworkswerecon
