It is widely acknowledged that governments are set to serve the people. Thus governments should solve problems for us. However, there has always been a debate th

2、at whether governments should focus on the immediate problems of today rather than on trying to solve the anticipated problems of the future. This is a good question and both sides should be carefully analyzed.It is obvious that the immediate problems of today is urgent, otherwise it can not be call

3、ed problems. For example, the CPI today in China is very high. Governments should focus on solving it, or the high level of inflation will cause the instability of the whole society. If a government can not solve some urgent problems, people may fight against the government and the society may not f

4、unction well.While it is immediate to solve the immediate problems of today, it may also cause big problems if we only focus on the immediate problems of today. Some problems need to be solved at once, but governments should not only pay attention to immediate problems. Like what happened (and it is

5、 still happening)in some developing countries, governments only pay attention to the economic growth while ignoring the environment. The fast economic growth is based on heavy use of natural resources and the destruction of environment. It is sure that this is a bad phenomenon and will do great harm

6、 to the human being in the long run.People who hold the view that governments should focus on the anticipated problems in the future thinks that if we do not have a long time planning we may be ruined by ourselves. We can also take the environment as an example. It is true that protecting the enviro

7、nment is to protect the future of human. If the environment is destroyed, our earth will become a place unsuitable for all living things. So governments should pay attention to solve it.However, paying attention to the anticipated problems in the future may have some disadvantages. Since the problem

8、s are anticipated, nobody can guarantee that they must happen in the future. So the efforts to solve it may be in vain and this may raise anger to the public. And only paying attention to the anticipated problems in the future while ignoring the immediate problems is another extreme, which will also

9、 raise social problems.In conclusion, only paying attention to the immediate problems or the anticipated problems in the future will cause great problems. In my opinion, the governments should make a combination of each side. Immediate problems and anticipated problems are all very important, so gov

10、ernments need to find a balance of the problems. If a good balance is found, it may do great help to the progress of whole society.Government is always bound by the need of the hour. Government may get entangled in solving immediate problems trying to placate the current situations. What if people w

11、ont exist in future? The people for whom government is striving may not survive due to several unsolved anticipated problems. Mass extinction as result of pandemic diseases or nuclear wars is one of the anticipated problems. Government should definitely focus on such hazardous anticipated problems.T

12、he immediate problems do require utmost attention. However, overlooking the anticipated problems may lead government and its people in a deadlock situation. The people will be left unprepared for the future crisis like global warming, extinction of natural resources to name a few.World is under a th

13、reat of global warming. Rising of ocean levels, melting of glaciers, increase in temperatures and many such lethal circumstances are anticipated. Government may choose to ignore these threats considering them as less pernicious. This will result in carelessness of people towards nature and exacerbat

14、ing the future problems. The problems that are prognosticated to occur 50 years from now may occur well before due to negligence. Government can strive to make people cognizant of catastrophic events to make people understand wise use of nature. In addition, problems like depletion of nature resourc

15、es like gas and water is another potential threat. There is water draught during summers in several regions. Government may take up more scientific projects like using ocean water to provide plenty of water resources needed for drinking as well as generation of electricity. Government may focus on c

16、onstructing more dams for effective use of water during floods. These measures may appear fritter. However, these are requisites for a safe future which require utmost attention.On the other hand, focusing on anticipated problems does not mean avoiding immediate problems. Government can assign several bodies to solve immediate problems. The current major crisis faced by many nations like US, India is economy doldrums. Government needs to implement measures to boost countrys languishi
