The 79-year-old grandmother graduated from Miami Dade College on Saturday with her two grandchi
13、ldren David and Mauricio. The woman began her studies in 1995, learning English, so she could study more. This week she got her diploma with honors. “My grandchildren, my family, theyve grown up watching my activity and they are going to learn and fight in life,” Salgado said. Former professor Sara
14、Bulnes said Salgados English was still limited, but her drive to learn was not. “When she came into my classroom her English was very limited and she struggled to learn the language,” Porf. Bulnes said. The grandmother has become an inspiration to many students at the college because she determined
15、to succeed.“She had some difficulties in learning and she beat them all and shes here graduating,” Bulnes said. “Im very proud of her.” Its been a long road to graduation for Mrs Salgado. She had to put her studies on hold and limit her study on various occasions to put her family first. In 2005 her
16、 daughter was in an accident, which made her stop studying. While studying Mrs Salgado worked in the colleges Early Childhood Center, caring for babies. “Im so happy when Im working with the infants,” she said.While she wasnt sure what her future held, she hoped to continue her studies but her health had made things difficult. “Its difficult to study because I have to take care of my health,” sh
