8、ut the training courseThis Participants Manual describes the modelyear measures 03/2005 implemented in the 5Series (E60/E61).This manual is designed to provide essentialinformation throughout the training courseand complements the seminar material usedin the BMW Aftersales Training course. It canbe

11、ill be implemented in the BMW 5Series as from March 2005.In the BMW 523i, BMW 525i and BMW 530imodels, the new BMW in-line, 6-cylinderengines (N52), featuring VALVETRONIC andextremely light-weight crankcase made fromthe light alloys magnesium and aluminium, willprovide increased power while reducing
12、 fuelconsumption. Added to this, BMW will offerthe xDrive, the innovative sports interpretationof all-wheel drive, in the BMW 525xi and BMW530xi models.In addition, the BMW 5 Series with xDrive willfeature an extended dynamic stability controlsystem (DSC) with new safety and comfortfunctions. All mo
13、dels of the BMW 5 Series willboast new interior trim and upholsteryhighlights such as IHKA rotary knobs inchrome and leather-covered handle on thehandbrake lever.As already featured on the Touring, as fromMarch 2005 the Saloon will be equipped asstandard with speed-dependent Servotronicsteering.New
14、in-line, 6-cylinder engine: Unsurpassed in power output andefficiencyThe new in-line, 6-cylinder petrol engine N52,which is already used in the BMW 6 Series, willbe offered in the BMW 5 Series as from March2005. This engine is one of the lightest andmost future-oriented 6-cylinder engines in theworl
15、d, providing even higher levels ofefficiency and dynamics. These advantageousqualities are in part achieved by uniqueinnovations such as: Second generation VALVETRONIC Composite magnesium-aluminiumcrankcase Electric water pump Magnesium cylinder head coverThe advantages for the driver are noticeably
