1、Unit 3 Seeking Advice,语法专题,写作专题,内容索引,Period ThreeGrammar & Writing,语法专题,语法精析,英语中，为了避免重复或使语言简洁，省去句子中的一个或几个句子成分，这种语法现象称为省略(Ellipsis)。 1.简单句中的省略 (1)主语的省略。 在口语中可以省略主语。 (I) Beg your pardon.请再说一遍。 祈使句中常省略主语。 (You) Open the door，please！请打开门,省略(,表示说话人的意见或看法时省略主语。 (It) Doesnt matter.没关系。 (It) Sounds like a g
2、ood idea.听起来是个好主意。 (2)省略谓语或谓语的一部分。 Who opened the door? Jack (opened the door). 谁打开的门？ 杰克,3)省略主语和谓语的一部分。 What beautiful flowers (they are)! 多么漂亮的花呀！ (Is there) Anything else to say？还有别的要说吗？ (4)省略宾语。 I paid Peter (the money).我已付给彼得(钱)了。 (5)省略表语。 My parents are interested in Peking Opera，but I am not
3、(interested). 我父母对京剧感兴趣，而我不感兴趣,6)动词不定式的省略。 动词不定式在形容词afraid，anxious，eager，glad，happy，willing，ready等后作状语时，to后的内容常省略。 Will you join us in the game? Ill be glad to (join you in the game). 你愿意加入我们一起比赛吗？ 我愿意,有些动词如believe，think，find，consider，imagine，prove等后作宾补的“to ben./adj.”中的to be可以省略。 We consider him (to
4、 be) lazy.我们认为他懒。 有些动词(短语)如want，wish，expect，hope，forget，would like等后的动词不定式作宾语时，为避免重复，可省略动词只保留到to。但如果不定式中含有系动词be和助动词have，to后要保留be或have。 The boy wanted to go out to play，but his mother told him not to (go out to play). 男孩想出去玩，可他妈妈不同意,感官动词如see，hear，feel，watch，notice等及使役动词let，have，make后作宾语补足语的动词不定式省略to，
5、但变为被动语态时，to不可省略。 They made the boy go to bed early. 他们让男孩早睡觉。 The boy was made to go to bed early. 男孩被迫早睡觉,在can not but，can not choose but，can not help but等句式中，后面的动词不定式不带to；介词but之前有实义动词do的某种形式时，but后的动词不定式不带to，否则要带to。 I can not but admire his courage. 我不能不佩服他的勇气。 两个或两个以上的动词不定式并列时，第一个带to，后面的省去to，但如果表示
6、对比关系时，则不可省略to。 I came here not to scold but to praise you. 我来这儿不是要责备你，而是要表扬你,7)介词的省略。 一些与动词、名词、形容词搭配的介词常可省略，只保留后面的动名词。如spend.(in) doing sth.；have difficulty/trouble (in) doing sth.；prevent/stop sb.(from) doing sth.等。 He spends an hour (in) doing some reading after supper every day. 他每天晚饭后用一个小时来读书,2.
7、并列句中的省略 (1)如果主语和谓语都相同，二者都可省略。 The news made me angry，but (the news made) John happy. 这条消息使我生气，而让约翰高兴。 (2)如果主语相同，谓语不同，则可以省略主语。 She came into the room and (she) turned on the computer. 她进了房间，打开电脑,3)如果主语不同，谓语中的一部分相同，则省略谓语中相同的部分。 John must be playing football and Mary (must be) doing her homework. 约翰一定是
