3、ine room is the heart of the board, it can provided the power for the operation of the ship, so the machinery in the engine room must be taken care of . Type of marine machinery in the engine room.There are many machines in the engine room. Including main engine, donkey engine, boiler, fresh water g
4、enerator, oil separator, oily water separator and so on. Feature of marine machinery in the engine room.In these machines, main engine is the power source of the ship, others provide the service for the main engine. Some of them are anti-pollution machines.2. The engine department. Introduction of t
5、he importance of the engine department on board.The engine department takes charge of the engine room. They can make the machinery especially main engine working smoothly, and make ships operation safe and anti-pollution. Introduction of personnel of the engine department.The chief engineer commands
6、 the engine department. The second engineer , the third engineer and the fourth engineer all work under his order. There are also some motormen in the department. Your duties during watch-keeping.I keep watch while sailing at sea or in port. I stand watch from 0400 to 0800 and from 1600 to 2000 hours. I check a
10、nd record all pressures and temperatures, and enter the same in the engine room log. Your experience.I must keep the maintenance of the main engine and help the chief engineer to arrange other personnel in the engine department. Sometimes, I cooperated with other engineers to locate troubles and tak

The engineer on duty works for 4 hours each watch.The second engineer keeps watch from 0400-0800 and 1600-2000, the third engineer keeps watch from 0000-0400 and 1200-1600, and the fourth engineer keeps watch from 0800-1200 and 2000-2400.
