2、th you about that. But, gosh, I dont know. Things are really busy for me today, the only time I can manage to squeeze out might be over lunch break. A: I hate to make you work through your lunch break with how busy you are. B: Its okay. Ive already had several days in a row working through lunch. A:

3、 How about this. We can make it a working lunch this afternoon, and Ill order some Chinese food for delivery. Itll be my treat. B: You dont have to do that. A: I insist. I really appreciate you taking time to work with me in. What is your favorite fast food? Ill cater to your taste. B: Actually I do

4、 like Chinese. Lets make it a date for Chop Suey and the Martin aount at about 12:30. Does that sound good? A: Great. Ill bring the food. Dialogue 2 A: For our lunch meeting with the investors, do we have to make a reservation at the restaurant or do we just show up? B: Usually for lunch, we dont ha

5、ve to reserve a table, they should allow walk-ins. But to be on the safe side, Ill order a table for half-past twelve. Will that suit your schedule? A: Ive arranged to meet them at the restaurant at twelve. Can you make the reservation a little earlier? If we start earlier, it will give us more time

6、 for a longer lunch. B: Are you planning on treating the investors to a full-course meal? A: Yes, well start with appetizers, follow with a soup and salad course, then main dishes of prime rib or cordon bleu chicken, and finish up with a delicious rich dessert of some sort. B: Thatll be pretty heavy

7、 for a mid-day meal, dont you think? A: As along as we stay away from anything alcoholic, we should be okay. B: With your prime rib and chicken choices, youd better hope nobodys vegetarian. A: We can make some special arrangement if we need to. After all, its the pany who is footing the bill. Dialog

8、ue 1 A: I hear youre being sent to Madrid for the annual conference. Is that right? B: Yes, it would be my first trip overseas. Actually, its going to be my first time leaving the country. A: Are you serious? You havent even been anywhere on vacation? B: No, I have never vacationed anywhere exotic.

9、But even if I dont get a chance to travel on my personal time, at least I can travel on pany time! A: Well, being able to go to the conference sounds like such a great opportunity. Have you applied at the embassy for a visa yet? B: Yes, it wasnt too hard to get. All I had to do was fill out the pape

10、rwork and pay the application fee. A: You leave next Tuesday, right? What time is your flight? B: My flight departs at 7 am. I have everything except for my luggage ready. A: If your flight is leaving so early, I can take you to the airport and see you off. Ill still be able to make it into the offi

11、ce by 9. B: That would be great! Thanks a lot! Dialogue 2 A: How were things in the Tokyo branch when you were there? B: Good! They have expanded and are doing better than they were last quarter. Its nice to see some improvement for a change. A: Do you see the trend continuing over the next few mont

12、hs? B: Yes, especially with so many of our executives going back and forth from here to Japan. The only problem is, they may have trouble when they go to open up business here. A: Why would you say that? B: They arent too familiar with doing business outside of Japan. There are a lot of cultural differences to aount for. A: Ill say! Sometimes they just do things really differently. But one thing I can say, they are really hospitable. B: Have you ever been to Japan? A: Sure! I just got back yesterday.
