1、全面推进素质教育要求进行思想道德教育。素质教育的培养目标是学生的德、智、体、美、劳全面发展,时代要求我们应在英语教学中实施素质教育。新课程标准的核心是贯彻素质教育思想,培养学生的英语交际能力。作为基础教育学科的初中英语和其他学科一样,肩负着提高全民思想道德修养和文化素质的任务。 It needs to carry out ideological and moral education to promote quality education comprehensively. 12、道理,激发起他们积极的思想感情.思想道德教育在基础教育中的地位极其重要,我们广大英语教师要改变以往那种只注重学生成绩、忽视德育渗透的旧观念,我们要在教学过程中大力提倡德、智、体、美、劳共同发展,把强调“教书育人” 的思想真正落实到英语教学的全过程.教育学原理认为:提高学生的思想觉悟能促进他们对知识的掌握而掌握科学文化知识又为学生形成科学的世界观奠定基础,两者相辅相成英语作为语言工具,在使用的过程中离不开思想内容这种语言教学的特点决定了英语教学在传授语言知识和培养语言能力的同时还要对学生进行思想教育使学生不仅能够学到语言而且还要接受正面的思想品德教育但是这种思想教育不靠“灌输”而是靠“渗透” 思想教育是活的教育。不是枯燥的政治说教所以这种渗透也应像涓涓溪流。在日常的教学中学生需要了解中西方的文化差异而语言的学习是为了更好地达到相互沟通交流的目的,促进发展语言形式因内容的表达而存在如果没有表达沟通的作用那么学生所学的字、词、句、篇、章都变成了没有血肉的东西失去生命力。失去本身存在的价值。因此我们一定要遵循语言教学规律正确处理好英语教学与思想教育的关系合理地把两者结合起来达到我们最终的目的既教书又育人
