1、时间状语从句时间状语从句 时间状语从句就是在复合句中表示主句动作发生时间的状语从句。 时间状语从句是所 有状语从句中用得最经常的一种， 并且用于引导时间状语从句的引导词也比较多， 在学习 时间状语从句时最重要的是记住这些引导词有哪些， 它们的意思怎样等。 到底时间状语从 句可以用哪些词来引导呢？请看下文： 1. 用 when 引导：when 表示“当时候”。如： Things were different when I was a child. 我小时候情况与现在不同。 People breathe more slowly when they are asleep. 人睡觉时呼吸比较缓慢。 2
2、. 用 while 引导：while 表示“当时候”。如： We must strike while the iron is hot. 我们要趁热打铁。 I went swimming while the others played tennis. 我去游泳，其余的人都打网球去了。 注意：while 所引导的时间状语从句中谓语动词必须是持续性的，不能是短暂性的。 3. 用 as 引导：as 表示“当时候”“随着”。如： He dropped the glass as he stood up. 他站起来时，把杯子摔了。 We get wiser as we get old. 随着年岁的增长，我们
3、也变得聪明些了。 4. 用 before 引导：before 表示“在之前”。如： Turn off the lights before you go to bed. 睡觉前要关灯。 Before he went to university he was a worker. 上大学之前他是工人。 5. 用 after 引导：after 表示“在之后”。如： I will tell you after they leave. 他们走我再告诉你。 After you finish the letter show it to me信写完后给我看看。 6. 用 until / till 引导：unti
4、l / till 表示“直到”。如： He waited until she was about to leave. 他等着一直到她准备离开。 I watched him until he disappeared in the distance. 我瞧着他直到他在远处消失。 这类句型的主句动词通常只能是延续性动词， 不能是终止性动词。 但是， 在否定句中， 主句动词可以是终止性动词，此时构成 notntil till句式，意为“直到才”。如 ： She didnt marry until she was over fifty. 她直到五十多岁才结婚。 Wed better not go unt
5、il your sister arrives. 我们最好等你姐姐到了再走。 7. 用 since 引导：since 表示“自从以来”。如： We have known each other since we were children. 我们从小认识。 Theyve moved twice since they got married. 他们结婚后已搬了两次家。 这类句子的主句通常用现在完成时。但是，当主句表示一段时间时，可用一般现在时 代替现在完成时。如： Its a long time since we met last. 好久没见面了。 How long is it since you
6、came in London? 你来伦敦有多久了? 8. 用 as soon as 引导：as soon as 表示“一就”。如： The boys ran off as soon as we appeared. 我们一来，孩子就都跑了。 He started as soon as he received the news. 他一接到消息就出发了。 表示“一就”这一意思的连词，除 as soon as 外，还可用 the moment, the minute, the instant 等。如： I want to see him the minute he arrives. 他一来到我就要见他
7、。 The moment I saw him I knew there was no hope. 我一看到他就知道没希望了。 9. 用 every time 等引导：any time, each time, every time, the first time, the last time, the next time 等有时也可用连词，引导时间状语从句，分别表示“任何时候”“每次”“第一次”“最后一 次”“下次”等。如： You can call me any time you want to. 你随时都可以给我打电话。 Each time I went there, I saw him w
8、orking. 我每次去那儿都看见他在工作。 Every time I call on him, he is out. 我每次去访问他，他都不在。 Next time you come in, please close the door. 下次你进来，请关门。 10. 时间状语从句的时态：当主句为将来时态或含有将来意义时，时间状语从句习惯上要 用一般现在时表示将来意义，而不能直接使用将来时态。如： 趁早动手，免得忘了。 误：Do it before you will forget. 正：Do it before you forget. before 引导的时间状语从句不能直接使用将来时态，而通
9、常用现在时表示将来意义。 让步状语从句让步状语从句 1. 用 although / though 引导 ： although 与 though 虽然拼写不同， 但意思相同， 都表示 “虽 然”，常可互换。如： Though they are twins, they look entirely different. 他们虽是孪生，但是相貌却完全不 同。 Although she didnt say anything I sensed (that) she didnt like the idea. 她虽然什么也 没说但我已意识到她不喜欢这个主意。 注意，不要按汉语习惯说 althoughbut。如
10、： 尽管她父亲在公司里，但她那份工作却是靠自己得到的。 误：Although her father is in the firm, but she got the job on her own. 正：Although her father is in the firm, she got the job on her own. 2. as 作“虽然”解，引导让步状语从句时，从句中的状语、表语或动词必须置于句首， though 引导的让步状语从句，也可将这些成分置于句首，但 although 等其它词引导的让步 状语从句不能将这些成分前置。如： Hard as/though they tried
11、(=Although/Though they tried hard), they couldnt make her change her mind. 尽管他们做了很大努力，却没法让她改变主意。 引导让步状语从句时，若提前的是可数名词单数，要省略不定冠词。如： Child as he is, he knows a lot. 虽然他是孩子，但他却很懂事了。 3. 用 even though / even if 引导 ： even though 和 even if 意思相同，均表示“即使”，常可互换。 如： Even though you have a lot of money, I wont lo
12、ve you. 即使你有很多钱，我也不会爱 你。 Even if you saw him pick up the money, you cant be sure he stole it. 就算你看见是他 拾起的钱，你也不能肯定钱就是他偷的。 4. 用 whetheror 引导：whetheror的意思是“无论还是”“不管还是”。 如： Ill do it whether you like it or not. 不管你是否喜欢，我都要做。 Whether we help him or not, he will fail. 不论我们帮助他与否, 他都将失败。 5. 用特殊词引导 ： 除上面提到的最
13、常用的引导让步状语从句的词语外，有时还可用那些以- ever 结尾的词语来引导，如 whatever, whoever, however, whenever, wherever 等，它们的意 思与 no matter what, no matter who, no matter how, no matter when, no matter where 等，意思 是“无论什么”“无论是谁”“无论多么”“无论什么时候”“无论什么地方”等。如： Whatever you say, I believe you. 无论你说什么，我都相信你。 Whoever telephones, tell them I
14、m out. 不管是谁打电话，都说我出去了。 However much he eats, he never gets fat. 无论他吃多少，他都不发胖。 6.另外，还有一个大家比较熟悉的词也可引导让步状语从句，那就是 while，它除了表示 “当时候”外，还可表示“尽管”“虽然”，此时引导的是让步状语从句。如： While we dont agree we continue to be friends. 尽管我们意见不同，我们还是朋友。 表示“虽然”的连词不能与表示“但是”的连词 but 连用，但可以 yet 或 still 等副词 连用。如： 译：虽然当时正下着雨，他还是到那里去了。 误：
15、Though it was raining, but he went there. 正：Though it was raining, he went there. 正：It was raining, but he went there. 正：Though it was raining, yet he went there. 条件状语从句条件状语从句 条件状语从句就是在复合句中表示主句动作发生条件的状语从句。 引导条件状语从句 最经常用的连词是 if，它的意思是“如果”；除此之外，还有其他一些连词，它们也多少含 有“如果”的意思，也可用于引导条件状语从句。 1. 用 if 引导：if 意为“如果
16、”。如： You cant take photographs if the light is bad. 光线不足，就无法拍照。 If you cheat in the exam youll never get away with it. 考试作弊必予追究。 2. 用 unless 引导：unless 的意思是“如果不”“除非”。如： Dont act unless youre certain. 没有把握就不要做。 Unless you go at once you will be late. 如果你不马上走，就会迟到的。 3. 用 as so long as 引导：as so long as 的意思是“如果”“只要”。如： Ill remember that day as long as I live. 只要我活着，我就不会忘记那个日子。 You may take my dictionary as long as you dont keep it too long. 只要使用时间不太 长，你可以把我的词典拿去。 4. 用 in case 引导：in case
