In wet bottom boiler the bottom ash is kept in a molten state and tapped off as a liquid. Wet bottom boiler slag is a te

3、rm that describes the molten condition of the ash as it is drawn from the bottom of the slag-tap or cyclone furnaces. An advantage is the fact that the end product in this process has a higher value compared to that of a dry bottom boiler. Wet bottom boilers are preferred for low volatile coals that

9、l difference between cyclone furnaces and pulverized coalfired furnaces is the manner in which combustion takes place. In pulverized coalfired furnaces, particles of coal move along with the gas stream; consequently, relatively large furnaces are required to complete the combustion of the suspended

10、fuel. With cyclonic firing, the coal is held in the cyclone and the air is passed over the fuel. Thus, large quantities of fuel can be fired and combustion completed in a relatively small volume, and the boiler furnace is used to cool the products of combustion. FBC plants are more flexible than conventional plants in that they can be fired on coal and biomass, among other fuels. Fluidized beds suspend solid

12、 fuels on upward-blowing jets of air during the combustion process. The result is a turbulent mixing of gas and solids. The tumbling action, much like a bubbling fluid, provides more effective chemical reactions and heat transfer.Combustion systems for solid fuelsFBC reduces the amount of sulfur emi

13、tted in the form of SOx emissions. Limestone is used to precipitate out sulfate during combustion, which also allows more efficient heat transfer from the boiler to the apparatus used to capture the heat energy (usually water tubes). The heated precipitate coming in direct contact with the tubes(hea

14、ting by conduction) increases the efficiency. Since this allows coal plants to burn at cooler temperatures, less NOx is also emitted. However, burning at low temperatures also causes increased polycyclic aromatic hydrocarbon emissions.
