3、ired to validate the supply manufacture and test of power cable 2 0SCOPE This instruction covers all necessary stages in the production of power cable from the examination of certification from procurement sources to the final inspection preservation and packing to despatch to site Although the meth
4、odology in compiling this instruction is to systematically progress through the construction experienced inspectors may interpret the intent of the instruction to accommodate local or novel practices or to utilise the instruction for a one off or alternative design the design having been approved by
5、 the client Any such variations should be noted in the inspector s report 3 0 PROCEDURE 3 1GENERAL This instruction together with its associated check sheet may be used on any order or contract It is intended to act as a guide to the inspector in the course of the inspector programme Any part of the
6、 document may be invoked and the sections to be used and the level of inspection required will be specified on the check sheet All tests and inspections will be carried out against approved drawings purchase order specifications purchasers or company standards and within the practices and rules of t
7、he country state or province and any government decrees laws ordinance or regulation that may apply If any conflict or contradictions be apparent in any of the above then the more onerous requirement will apply unless the purchaser or client directs otherwise in writing 3 2 REFERENCE DOCUMENTS Appli

10、F CERTIFICATION Original or authenticated copies of certificates will be available at manufacturer s premises These should be examined for compliance with specifications and where appropriate drawings The review will include Maker s name and location Certificate number Material Specification Heat or
11、 cast number Chemical composition Exceptionally ancillary items may be supported by test certification or by certificates of conformity The content of certification should be appropriate to the required scope of the items 5 1 2ADDITIONAL SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS May apply on special requirements check t
12、o ensure that contract requirements have been met 5 1 3REPORTING Reporting on materials ancillary items must include Confirmation of satisfactory document review Record of the endorsement of certificates reviewed witnessed Record of all non conformities Record of tests witnessed and the result 5 2CO
13、NSTRUCTION CHECK OF POWER CABLES Check size and rating of cable Check size and numbers of wires in construction of cable Check cable construction cable insulation material and diameter etc 5 3 DRUM CHECKS For cable already drummed check Labelling Sealing Lagging Drum quantity Conformance of quantity
14、 listings on drums to documented declarations 5 4TESTS 5 4 1 CONDUCTOR RESISTANCE SGS Ref No 23 Rev 0 Page 5 of 7 INSPECTION GUIDELINES POWER CABLES Date 22 03 04 Measure by Kelvin s Double Bridge or Wheatstone Bridge 5 4 2WITHSTAND VOLTAGE These tests consist of voltage tests on each length of comp
15、leted cable AC withstand voltage test The test voltage shall be applied between the conductor or conductors and metallic shield metallic armour or water The duration shall be 5 minutes DC withstand voltage test ICEA only All cables rated 5001 volts and above shall be tested by the DC withstand volta
16、ge test 5 4 3INSULATION RESISTANCE EXCEPT IEC The insulation resistance shall be measured after the completed cable AC voltage test or before any DC voltage test Reading of the insulation resistance shall be taken for one minute 5 4 4DISCHARGE TEST The partial discharge test shall be made prior to the AC voltage test as per the appropriate test method specified in the code and standard The AC test voltage shall be applied between conductor and the metallic component of insulation shield 5 4 5TEN
