3、ectsNutrientcyclingreferstothecomplicatedprocessofcycling,transferring,chemica1elementsinthechangingofmineralandecosystem,whichisoneofthemostfundamentalfunctionsofecosystem.Someofthenutrientsmainlycirculateamongorganismsandatmosphere;othersmainlycirculateamongorganismsandsoil,oramongorganisms,atmosp
4、hereandsoil.Inshort,therearethreetypesofcirculationsofnutrientcyclinginecosystem:geochemicalcycles,biogeochemicalcyclesandbiochemicalcycles.Asthelargestandmostcomplicatedlandecosysteminstructureandfunctionontheearth,theforestecosystemhavegreatinfluencesonmaintainingtheecologicalbalanceandenrichingsp
5、iritualandculturallivesofpeople.Thecontinuouscyclingofnutrientsisthefoundationofexistenceanddevelopmentforallspeciesinforestecosystem,andcycleandbalanceofnutrientelementsexertdirectimpactsonproductivity,stabilityandSUstainabilityofecosystem.Asplantationforestisaspecialforminteractionswiththefactorso
6、fplantationwil1notonlyenrichthetheoreticalstudiesofecosystem,butinstructtheproductionpracticeaswelltoacceleratetheutilizationrateofnutrientscyclingandmaximallyimprovetheproductivityofplantationthroughadjustmentandameliorationofeachlimitingfactor.1CURRENTSTATUSOFRESEARCHTheearliestresearcherwhostudie
7、dthecontentofplantationnutrientsisE.Ebermayer.Ebermayer(1876)measuredthenutrientcontentsinbroadleavedforestandconiferousforestinBavaria,Germany,andelaboratedtheimportanceofforestlittersinnutrientscyclinginhisbookForestLittersanditsChemica,CD,zffffD,z.SinceAlbertpublishedhisresearchresultsonnutrients
8、cyclingofPinussylvestrisandFagussylvaticain1930ofecosystem,researchoncyclingofnutrient(Duvigeaud1974),thestudiesonmineralcyclingelementsundercertainconditionsthatwillrevealitsdistinguishingcharacteriSticSanditsinforestecosystembecameanincreasinglyactiveresearchfield.EspeciallywhenBazilevicheta1.Corr

10、ipsbetweenbiocyclingandgeochemicalcycling.Bormanneta1.(1979)conductedquantitativemeasurementofthehydrologiccyclingandnutrientscyclingbymeansofsmallwatershed,tht!sdrivingthedevelopmentofthestudyonmineralcyclingfrombiocyclingtogeochemicalcycling.Henceforth,manymonographs,collectionsandseminarproceedin
11、gsonforestecosystemnutrientscyclingresearchesgotpublished(Tsutuumi1968;Young1967;Wiley1986).Andatthesametime,studiesonexperimenttechniquesandprocessingmethodsofdatahavebeenimprovedquickly,whichindicatesthatgreatattentionhasbeenpaidtosuchresearchesacrossthewor1d.NutrientscyclingresearchinChinastarted
12、late.Inthelate1950s,HouXueyi(1959)conductedsomeresearchonit.DuetothegreatimpactsoftheCultureRevolution,researchesonnutrientscyclingdidntgainrapidgrowthuntill980s.Relativelythoroughresearcheshavebeendonesuccessivelyonnutrientscyclinginfirplantations(PanWeizhu1988;ChenChuyinl988;WangZhan1982;LiaoLipin
13、geta1.1999).ShenGuofangeta1.(1985),DongShireneta1.(1986)andNieDaopingeta1.(1986)maderelativelydeepresearchonstaticdistributionanddynamiccharacteristicsofnutrientelementsandnutrientsbiocyclinginforeststandof尸.tabulaeformisCarr.HouXueyi(1982)summarizedresearchachievementsinnutrientcyclingareabetween19
14、50.1966inChina.whichisthefirstnationalreportonfoliageelementschemicalgeography,andprovidedvaluabledataforthestudiesonbiogeochemistryorlandscapeVol5No22006geochemistry.Withtheindepthdevelopmentofecosystempositioningresearch,forestryecosystemresearchinChinahasbeengraduallyonthetrackoforganization,syst
15、ematizationandnetwork(WangShuyuan,1985).Researchonnutrientshasgraduallyenteredabrandnewstage.2MAINCONTENTOFPLANTATIONNUTRIENTCYCLGRESEARCHIntermsofthecontentsofdomesticandoverseasresearchonplantationnutrientcycling,allresearcheshavebeenmainlyfocusedonthefollowingaspects.2.1NutrientscontentNutrientelementcontentnotonlydiffersindifferentorgansorindifferentspeciesorindifferentstands,butalsodiffersindifferentsizes,positionsandstagesofgrowthinasameorganofthesamespecies.Andconsistenceofeachnutrientelementisdifferent.VanLear(1995)conductsresearchonnu
