5、ezingwithacoldfarmoreseverethaninthewinterwithus.Inourcountryitwasstillautumn，thoughlateintheseason；andtheythoughtofthatintheirdistantexile，andoftenpicturedtothemselvestheyellowleavesonthetreesathome.Theirwatchespointedtothehoursofevening，andtimetogotosleep，althoughintheseregionsitwasnowalwaysnight.

11、hetunewhichhehadtaughthim.Hisgrandmotherhunggreenbirds-foodaroundthecage，ashe，hergrandson，hadbeenaccustomedtodo.Thedaughterofthevillageblacksmith，whowasyoungandfair，stoodatthewell，drawingwater.Shenoddedtothegrandmother，andtheoldwomannoddedtoher，andpointedtoaletterwhichhadcomefromalongwayoff.Thatvery
12、morningtheletterhadarrivedfromthecoldregionsofthenorth；there，wheretheabsentonewassweetlysleepingundertheprotectinghandofGod.Theylaughedandweptovertheletter；andhe，faraway，amidiceandsnow，undertheshadowoftheangelswings，weptandsmiledwiththeminspirit；forhesawandhearditallinhisdream.Fromthelettertheyreada
