What do you think we call great buildings?S:T: The teacher show some pictures of great buildings: such as Taj Mahal, India, pyramid, the Great Wall, Notre Dame de Paris, Eiffel Towe
3、r and London BridgeCan you say out these buildings names?S:T: These famous buildings have become symbols of these countries. When we describe a building we often mention its period, materials, features and kinds of building. Now we will listen to a radio program about buildings you pay attention to

Listening Task 1 Do the exercise 3In order to help students to understand the listening materials better, before listening to the cassette the teacher show these words.medieval 中世纪的 marble 阳台balcony 天使ornament 大理石angel 装饰物loch 瓷砖tile 湖湾Match the buildings in the photos with the names.

Ask them to listen for the stressed words which give some new information for the person listening. Play the cassette, paus
9、ing after each sentence to give students time to write down the stressed words.Ask the question: How many words do you write down?Ask students to give answers then the teacher gives the right answers.Listen to these sentences again.
