1、Unit 2 Learning from Helen Keller 2Making Suggestions(提建议)【日常用语】1. “What/ How about+名词/代词或v.-ing?”意思是“怎么样？”。例如： What/ How about a hot bath？ 洗个热水澡怎么样？ What/ How about playing football？ 去踢足球怎么样？ 2. Lets do ，shall we？ “让我们干，好吗？”在表示“建议”的交际用语 Lets 后，常常跟一个简短的问句， shall we？ 以使口气变得更加客气一些。例如： Lets meet at the
2、 entrance to the cinema， shall we？我们在电影院入口处见，好吗？ OK. 行。 Lets go out and have some coffee， shall we？让我们出去喝点咖啡，好吗？ OK. Lets go. 行，我们走。3.“ Shall I /we do sth ？”意思是“我/我们好吗？”。例如： Shall I call him back? 我打电话叫他回来，好吗？ Shall we go home ? 我们回家好吗？ 4. “Why not +动词+ ？/ Why dont you +动词+ ？”意思是“为什么不？/你为什么不做？”。例如：
3、Why not e-mail him? =Why dont you e-mail him? 为什么不给他发电子邮件呢？ 5.“Youd better（not）do sth. ”意思是“你最好（不）做”。例如： Youd better not watch TV when youre doing your homework. 你做家庭作业时，最好不要看电视。 6.用Dont.来表示建议，通常用于祈使句的否定形式中。如：Dont play in the street. Dont throw it like that.7.Would you like+短语？这个句型意思是怎么样？后接sth. 或to
4、do sth.。如：Would you like another cup of tea? Would you like some colour pencils? 8.Will/Could you please+动词原形？它的意思是请你好吗？如：Will you please come tomorrow? Will you please pick it up? 9. 主语could/should do 表示语气委婉、谦逊。意为“应该、总该”。例如： 1)What should sb. do？Sb. should do sth. What should I do ?我该做什么？ You shoul
5、d do what your parents tell you to.你应该按你父母的要求去做。 He is in trouble now，and we should give him a hand.他现在处于困境中，我们应该助他一臂之力。 2)Could you do sth. ?请求对方做某事。 Could you babysit for us on Friday? NO problem./Sorry,Id love to ,but /Sure./Of course./Certainly. 3)Could I do sth. ? 请求对方允许自己去做某事。 Could I use your
6、 phone?10.Would you mind （not）doing sth. / ones(not) doing sth.?你介意做某事吗？Would you mind my / me asking you a few questions? 我请教你几个问题好吗？1) 若表示“不介意”或“同意”时，常用否定形式。如： No, of course not. No, certainly not. No, not at all. No, go ahead. No, do as you like. No, indeed. No, please. No, I dont mind. No, do it
7、 please. Not in the least. 等。2) 若表示“介意”或“不同意”时，则常用较委婉的方式加以拒绝。如： Im sorry but I do. Sorry, youd better not. Im afraid you cant. I wish you wouldnt . Im sorry, but its not allowed. Yes, I do mind. 11. If I were you， I would do用虚拟语气形式来表示语气委婉的建议。例如： If I were you， I would study harder.如果我是你的话，我将会更加努力地学习
8、。 If I were in your position， I would do the work better.如果我在你这个位置，我将会把工作做得更好。12. 主语 advise sb. （ not ） +to do / 主语 suggest （ ones ） doing 主语 advise / suggest that sb. （ should ） do “建议某人干”。例如： I advised her not to believe him.我建议她不要相信他的话。 They suggested / advised that I （ should ） come another day.
9、 他们建议我另找个时间来。13. 用情态动词提建议 用should，have to，must等情态动词提建议时，用should语气比较委婉、客气；用have to， must语气比较直率。例如： You should finish your homework as soon as possible. 你应该尽快完成家庭作业。 You should go to the washroom before the film begins. 电影放映之前，你应该去一下洗手间。 You have to tell your parents before you go out and play. 你出去玩之前
10、必须告诉父母。 You must buy a ticket to go into the cinema. 你必须买票进电影院。 14.提建议的答语： 当别人向你提出建议时，肯定回答可用：Good idea. / OK ! / Certainly. / Of course. /All right. / With pleasure. / Id love to. 否定回答可用：No , thanks./ Im afraid not. / No, I dont think so./ Sorry , we cant . / Id love / like to , but.【情景会话】Amy: Whats
