1、President Obamas 2010 Back to School Speech Thank you! Hello! (Applause.) Thank you. Thank you. Well, hello, Philadelphia! (Applause.) And hello, Masterman. It is wonderful to see all of you. What a terrific introduction by Kelly. Give Kellya big round of applause. (Applause.) I was saying backstage

2、that when I was in high school, I could not have done that. (Laughter.) I would have muffedit up somehow. So we are so proud of you and everything that youve done. Because you are one of the best schools in Philadelphia. You are a leader in helping students succeed in the classroom. Just last

8、week, you were recognized by a National Blue Ribbon - as a National Blue Ribbon School because of your record of achievement. And that is a testament to everybody here - to the students, to the parents, to the teachers, to the school leaders. Its an example of excellence that I hope communities acro

10、 for school. And theyre excited about it. Ill bet they had the same feelings that you do - youre a little sad to see the summer go, but youre also excited about the possibilities of a new year. The possibilities of building new friendshipsand strengthening old ones, of joining a school club, or tryi

11、ng out for a team. Maybe youre making the jump from elementaryto middle school, or from middle school to high school, and youre worried about what thats going to be like. Maybe your

13、e starting a new school. Youre not sure how youll like it, trying to figure outhow youre going to fit in. Or maybe youre a senior, and youre anxious about the whole college process; about where to apply and whether you can afford to go to college. 我知道,你们中有些人在新学年会有些紧张。或许你刚从小学升到初中,从初中升到高中,会担心,新的学年将会是什

You know whats going on in the news and

15、 you also know whats going on in some of your own families. Youve read about the war in Afghanistan. You hear about the recession that weve been through.
