Especially in the era oftechnology, as the technological development prospering every day, competition between nationsis intensified. Effective communication among countries has
7、 never been more important thanever.News, as cultrual and informaton carrier, is considered to be one of the most powerfulinformative vehicles in intercultural communication. And obviously the internet becomes moreand more significant, the Web journalism English emerges as a prominent source of info
8、rmation.The purpose of this thesis is to dig out an effective way to Web journalism English translationbased on the linguistic features of news as well as Nidas equivalence theory.This thesis starts from the introduction to the Web news and its linguistic features, andillustrates the previous studie
9、s on the Web journalism English translation. By presentingequivalence theory in detail and the explanation of the meaning in source language and targetlanguage, the author demonstrates why this theory is feasible for Web journalism Englishtranslation. Based on the abundant and successful translation
10、 samples chosen from variuoswebsites to prove the feasibility of the theory in this translation, the writer provides the practicaltechniques or skills of how to translate by making use of equivalence theory. Due to newstimeliness, Web journalism English naturally becomes the hot bed for highly expre
11、ssiveneologism; but such new terms and vocabulary will make it difficult for translators to find theexact equivalents. So the suggested approach is to find the closest equivalent according to theirmeanings while keeping their expressiveness in mind.The thesis is an academic one with specific discuss

13、 English translation issupplied with some regulations to follow and play a better function of information exchange.Key words: Web journalism English; equivalence theory; source language; target languageii 摘要随着信息通讯的迅速发展，大众传媒对当今世界的影响日益广泛。作为大众传媒的最主要途径，报纸及网络与人类生活愈来愈密不可分，网络新闻更成为人们生活中不可缺少的一部分；因此，网络新闻英语翻译不可避免地在信息交流中发挥重要作用。本文旨在通过分析新闻英语特征，利用奈达的功能对等翻译理论来探寻网络新闻英语翻译的有效方法。从新闻的定义及其语言特点出发，将国内外新闻英语翻译方面的成果进行梳理和归纳。从理论层次上对奈达的翻译理论进行阐述：介绍奈达功能对等理论的基本概念，包括奈达对于源语和目标语意义的诠释；并对功能对等理论适用于新闻英语翻译进行详细分析及理由的论述。同时以功能对等理论作为指导，辅以大量的新闻翻译实例，阐释运用功能对等理论
