2、对这一语言现象的研究也日渐增多，内容包含语码转换的语法特点、语用功 能及其他方面。近年来，大众媒体中的语码转换现象受到越来越多的关注，很多 学者都对其从不同方面进行了研究。黄国文（2004）、王瑾（2005）及其他学者 已从话语分析角度对媒体语言中汉英语码转换现象进行了分析。 有鉴于此，本研究以十种中文杂志中的汉英语码转换为研究对象，并运用语 域理论对其进行了语域分析，旨在描述语码转换模式在媒体语言中的变异，解析 语域理论对不同杂志语域中的语码转换模式的影响，进而探究语码转换在媒体语 言中出现的规律。 语域理论主要指的是语言使用的即时语境，是系统功能语言学中的一个重要 理论，而且其在语码转换研
3、究中的适用性和有效性已经得到了验证。在此理论框 架下，本研究采用定性和定量分析相结合的方法从语域分析视角来研究中文杂志 中汉英语码转换现象。首先用定量研究的方法，描述了杂志语域中语码转换的变 异性，并通过 SPSS 软件分析了嵌入语各语言单位和各类语码转换在杂志语篇中 出现的频率, 语码转换跨语域出现的频率以及各语言单位在各种杂志语域中出现 的频率。定性的方法主要用于对语码转换的语域分析，旨在探究语域理论如何制 约语码转换在不同杂志语域中的应用。 分析表明，汉英语码转换在中文杂志语篇中呈现出的变异性主要表现在语言 单位、语码转换类型和杂志语域三个层面。不同杂志语域见证不同的语码转换模 式这一现
4、象是受语域理论的三个变量（即语场、语旨、语式）及其分支制约的： 语场及其话题和专门性这两个分支影响语码转换在不同语域中的频率和模式；语 旨及其四个分支（社会角色、权势、社会距离和正式程度）暗含作者和编辑们在 不同杂志语域中对语码转换的选择；而语式决定了不同的语域涉及不同的语式表 现形式，从而导致了不同的语言风格和不同频率的语码转换。此外，研究还发现 语域理论中的三个变量实际上不是截然分开的，它们能够共同影响语码转换的使 I Masters Dissertation of Henan University of Science and Technology 用。 本研究为理解媒体语言中发生的语码

In western linguistics, the researches are mainly done from the perspectives of sociolinguistics
7、, grammatical analysis, psycholinguistics and conversational analysis. The studies of Chinese scholars have also been increasing in quantity, which cover the grammatical structure, pragmatic functions and other aspects of this specific phenomenon. In recent years, the code- switching in mass media h
8、as been attracting more and more attention and has been studied by many scholars from different aspects. Huang Guowen (2004), WangJin (2005) and other scholars have analyzed Chinese-English code-switching in the mass media language from the discourse analysis perspective. Alternatively, by taking Ch
9、inese-English code-switching instances in ten Chinese magazines as research data, this study focuses on the register analysis of this specific phenomenon in texts of Chinese magazines by utilizing register theory, aiming to describe the variation of code-switching patterns in media language, probe i
10、nto the influences of register theory on the practice of code-switching in different magazine registers, and explore the occurrence rules of code-switching in mass media. Register theory, which concerns the immediate context, is an important theory in Systemic Functional Linguistics and it has been
11、proved applicable and effective in studying code-switching. Under this theoretical framework, the present study combines the qualitative and quantitative methods to analyze the Chinese-English code-switching in Chinese magazines from a register analysis approach. First of all, quantitative study des
12、cribes the variation of code-switching in Chinese magazines: the frequencies of the embedded five linguistic units and code-switching types，the frequency of code-switching across magazine registers, as well as the frequencies of linguistic units in six magazine registers are examined via SPSS. Quali
13、tative study focuses on the register analysis of this phenomenon, aiming to explore how register III Masters Dissertation of Henan University of Science and Technology theory influences the practice of code-switching in different magazine registers. The analysis indicates that Chinese-English code-s
14、witching manifests great variation in Chinese magazines in terms of linguistic units, code-switching types and magazine registers. And the phenomenon that different magazine registers witness different code-switching patterns is conditioned by the three variables and their subcategories of register
15、theory: field, with topic and technicality as subcategories, influences the frequency and pattern of code-switching; tenor and its four subheadings (i.e. social roles, power, social distance, and formality) implicate the writers and editors choice of code-switching in different magazine registers; w
16、hile mode determines that different registers involve different mode values, resulting in different language styles and frequencies of code-switching. Moreover, it is also found that the three variables of register theory are in effect not so separated categories and they can jointly influence code-switching performa
