1、克林顿2000元旦祝辞 名人演讲稿 Ladiesandgentlemen,tonightwecelebrate.Thechangeofcenturies,thedawningofanewmilleiumarenowjustminutesaway. Wecelebratethepast.WehavehonoredAmericasremarkableachievements,strugglesandtriumphsinthe20thcentury.Wecelebratethefuture,imagininganevenmoreremarkable21stcentury. Aswemarvelatt
2、hechangesofthelast100years,wedreamofwhatchangesthenext100andthenext1,000willbring.Andaspowerfulasourmemoriesare,ourdreamsmustbeevenstronger.Forwhenourmemoriesoutweighourdreams,webeeold.AnditistheeternaldestinyofAmericatoremainforeveryoung-alwaysreachingbeyond,alwaysbeing,asourFounderspledged,amorepe
3、rfectunion. SoweAmericamustnotfearchange.Itead,letusweleit,embraceitandcreateit. Thegreatstoryofthe20thcenturyisthetriumphoffreedomandfreepeople.Astorytoldinthedramaofnewimmigrants,thestrugglesforequalrights,thevictoriesovertotalitarianism,thestuingadvancesineconomicwell-beingandcultureandhealthanda
4、ceandtelemunicatioandinbuildingaworldinwhichmorethanhalfthepeopleliveundergovernmentsoftheirownchoosingforthefirsttimeinallhistory. Wemustneverforgetthemeaningofthe20thcenturyorthegiftsofthosewhoworkedandmarched,whofoughtanddiedforthetriumphoffreedom. Soasweringinthisnewyearinanewcentury,inanewmille
5、ium,wemustnowandalwaysechoDr.King,inthewordsoftheoldAmericanhymn,Letfreedomring. Ifthestoryofthe20thcenturyisthetriumphoffreedom,whatwillthestoryofthe21stcenturybe? Letitbethetriumphoffreedomwiselyusedtobringpeacetoaworldinwhichwehonorourdifferencesandevenmoreourmonhumanity.Suchatriumphwillrequiregr

Now,wemaynotbeabletoeliminateallhatefulintolerance,butwecandevelopahealthyintoleranceofbigotry,oreionandabjectpoverty. Wemaynotbeabletoeliminatealltheharshcoequencesofglobalization.Butwecanmunicatemoreand
9、travelmoreandtrademoreinawaythatliftsthelivesofordinaryworkingfamilieseverywhereandthequalityofourglobalenvironment. Wemaynotbeabletoeliminateallthefailuresofgovernmentandinternationalititutio.Butwecancertainlystrengthendemocracysoallchildrenarepreparedforthe21stcenturyworldandprotectedfromitsharshe
10、stsideeffects. Andwecandosomuchmoretoworktogether,tocooperateamongourselves,toseizetheproblemsandtheoortunitiesofthisever-smallplaweallcallhome. Inshort,ifwewantthestoryofthe21stcenturytobethetriumphofpeaceandharmony,wemustembraceourmonhumanityandourshareddestiny. Now,werejustmomentsfromthatnewmille

Twocenturiesago,astheFramerswerecraftingourCotitution,BenjaminFranklinwasoftenseeninIndependenceHall,lookingatapaintingofthesunlowonthehorizon.WhenatlonglasttheCotitutionfinallywassigned,Mr.Franklinsaid,Ihaveoftenwonderedwhetherthatsunwasrisingorsetting.Today,Ihavethehaioknowitisarisingsun. well,twocenturieslater,weknowthesunwillalwaysriseonamericaaslongaseachnewgenerationlightsthefireoffreedom.ourchildrenareready.soagain,thetorchispaedtoanewcenturyofyoungamerica.版权所有
