A

5、lthough TFT LCD has shown good performance, but the TFT - LCD drive signal is very complex, at the same time control unit needs to deal with very large amounts of data of J, with a resolution of 640 X 480 color TFT - LCD for example, display a color image on the need to deal with 900 byte data, this

6、 is the traditional single chip processor is incapable of action.Because of the large quantity of image data, the images are compressed and stored by, where JPEG (Joint Pho tographic Experts Group) format is the most widely used compression image. In order to solve the application of image and other

7、 large capacity data in the TFT LCD on the screen, this paper proposes a color LCD display module based on ARM9 processor $3C2440X. The module can be achieved on the character and color RGB format image display, also can display images in JPEG format. Since the image data of liquid crystal display r

8、eceive only RGB format, in order to achieve the JPEG image display, must extract the compressed image, the decoding function of JPEG format image based on ARM9 processor. This method simplifies the design difficulty of color TFT-LCD image display, at the same time, it provides a method for decoding

9、JPEG format and liquid crystal display. Liquid crystal display module can be easily connected with the system interface and the outer, realize image display module function. 1 Structure design and analysis module The hardware includes 4 parts: ARM9S3C244OX processor, a data storage module, LCD displ

10、ay module and RS232 communication module. The module uses two non-volatile flash memory NAND Flash and NoR Flash. Considering that N0R Flash has a chip implementation and high reliability features, use it to store ARM9 processor running the program code; large storage capacity and high cell density,

Function block diagram is shown in Figure 1. 2 ARM9 S3C2440X embedded processor S3C2440X is a RISC processor based on ARM920T kernel, frequency up to 400 MHz, suitable for embedded applications. It supports config

14、urable 8, 16, 32 bit data bus width. In the memory interface, can be extended 6 channels of ROM or RAM memory, and SDRAM 2 channel, at the same time, it also supports NAND Flash, NORFlash memory expansion. It within the ARM920T kernel has high speed microcontroller bus (AMBA BUS) structure and memor

15、y cache Harvard architecture (Cache), the cache is respectively 16 kByte and 16 kByte data memory, so it has high speed performance is good; with rich peripherals, including I CD, UART, USB, SD controller and SPI interface, can satisfy the different requirements of design. 2.1.1 LCD controller The s

16、eamless connection of S3C244oX internal I CD controller interface for STN - LCD and TFT - LCD, it supports monochrome palette, color and 24 bit true color display. According to the different requirements of the design, the program can achieve the corresponding resolution of LCD, data format and frame rate settings, so as to meet the various types of LCD module.
