Initially, the city of Beijing has a history of over 3,000 years and was the capital of several dynasties, th
3、us boasting a rich legacy of ancient Chinese architecture and culture. Beijing is blessed with numerous tourist destinations of tremendous historical importance. These include the Great Wall, a famous line of defense; the Forbidden City, an enormous palace compound; the Temple of Heaven, a fascinati
4、ng site of imperial worship; the Summer Palace, a wonderful imperial garden etc. Secondly, standing side by side with those fabulous symbols of the imperial past are artistic modern buildings such as the Olympic Village, the Water Cube and Bird Nest Stadium, as well as the characteristic Siheyuans a
5、nd Hutongs ,the windows to Beijings old ways of life. Last but not least, as the essence and miniature of Chinese culture, Beijing Opera incorporates the advantages of local opera and folk melody, prevailing in every corner of China. With its exposure to the Western world, many foreigners begin to f
6、all in love with it and also have the opportunity to feast their eyes on the other forms of arts. Since Beijing is both historic and dynamic, my foreign friend can taste the historic flavor as well as enjoy the modern arts. Situated in the center of the campus, the Cultural Square is artistically designed and attractive, surrounded by evergreen trees that are i
11、n full blossom almost all the year round. When a gentle breeze blows, colorful flowers dance in the air and smell sweet. Also dotted in the square are winding walking paths, classic stone bridges and ever flourishing meadows, which offer visitors both great sightseeing and relaxation. Whats more, yo
